Pura Luhur Uluwatu

Located 25 kilometers south of Denpasar, its province capital, exactly in Pecatu village, Kuta South district of Badung regency, Pura Luhur Uluwatu (Uluatu temple) is a Balinese sea temple. Its location on the south westernmost precinct of this magical island guards the Balinese from the evil spirit of the ocean.

It was built in the 11th century and regarded as one of the six most important temples in Bali, sad kahyangan or six great santuaries, along with Besakih. Built from dark greay coral stone (which is much harder and more durable than the volcanic tuff which is normally used for most Balinese temples), Uluwatu beautifully designed with spectacular views.
For years, this temple gain reputation as Bali's most spectacular temple due to its location in 250 feet above the waves of the Indian Ocean.

Uluwatu temple well known as a popular place to enjoy the sunset. Its offers a wonderful vantage point to view a spectacular sunset. Famous not only for its unique position, Uluwatu temple also boasts for performance of Kecak Dance, one of the famous and dynamic Balinese traditional dance.

After that is Uluwatu beach itself. Uluwatu Beach is known for its surf and there is always some swell here so it's also always crowded. The spot offers several waves which are working with different swells and tides. Then a smal forest that surround Uluwatu Temple, Alas Kekeran. This forest is a part of the temple and home for Uluwatu monkey that waiting for some peanuts or banana from visitors.

Uluwatu can be reach arround 45 minutes from Nusa Dua, or 1 hr 15 minutes from Kuta or Tuban area. There are many warung until restaurant for getting food or hotel.
